My Favourite Perfumes

I have my eye on a couple of new perfumes at the moment (including Giorgio Armani's new fragrance Si), but before I splurge on a £60 perfume, I thought I would do a little round up of my favourite ones.

I am a huge fan of Marc Jacob's perfume, but I really don't like his new one, Honey. It's a bit too sickly for me, gorgeous bottle though as always! I have three of his right now, which I have been using over the last year or so.

First up is my fave, Lola. This fragrance is so beautiful and elegant. it's a slightly more grown up perfume for Marc Jacobs and when I wear it, I cannot stop sniffing my wrists! The bottle is stunning too, a gorgeous big floral applique lid and a feminine purple bottle. This is one perfume that I will repurchase again and again as it's so lovely to wear and so distinctive.

Next up is Marc Jacobs perfume number 2, Daisy Eau So Fresh. This is similar to Daisy but I actually prefer it. I was sent it to review just before my wedding (2 years ago) and it is such a big bottle, I still have a bit left. It's pretty and fruity with hints of rose and plum. So sweet.

Final Marc Jacobs is Dot. I fell in love with the bottle then the perfume. It's such a cute bottle, you have to have it on your dressing table! A cheeky, sweet smell of berries and orange blossom, this perfume cheers you up just by spritzing it on.

Finally, 2 products of the same scent. I picked up Sarah Jessica Parker's debut fragrance Lovely at Duty Free last year and I instantly loved it! It's so different to anything I own. Lavender, orchid and apple martini come from the top and middle notes. It's such a feminine smell and I love wearing it in the evenings for a more sophisticated scent.

I loved the fragrance so much that when I was in TK Maxx a few months ago and spotted the body spritz of the fragrance, I decided to snap that up too. With the same scent, and a similar bottle, this is like an oil, which you spray on and rub into your body. It leaves you silky smooth and smelling of the fragrance. Just gorgeous!

So those are my favourite perfumes at the moment. Even when I'm finished with a Marc Jacobs perfume, I can never bring myself to throw out the bottles!

Which fragrances are you loving at the moment? Enjoy x

Marc Jacobs Takes A Diet Coke Break

What happens when one of your favourite designers collaborates with one of your favourite drinks? Well, that would be the amazing Marc Jacobs being made the Creative Director of Diet Coke. A match made in heaven me thinks!

The appointment of the ab-tastic Marc Jacobs as Creative Director to the iconic drink, coincides with Diet Coke's 30th birthday - OMG, I'm almost as old as Diet Coke! Crazy. It may seem a bit strange to appoint a fashion designer as creative director to a soft drink brand, so what can we come to expect from this awesome collaboration?

To begin with, the design of the bottle - Mr. Jacobs is going to give it a whole new look! And with the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Jean Paul Gaultier already having designed Diet Coke cans and bottles in the past, I think we can expect an amazing new look from Marc Jacobs. The new design will be launched later this month - perfect for coinciding with Fashion Week. There's also the new campaigns - and if these drool-worthy images and commercial are anything to go by, I cannot wait to see what else Marc Jacobs has up his sleeve.

What do you think about MJ as Creative Director to Diet Coke? Enjoy x

I Love Lola!

I love a beautiful perfume. I'm one of those girls who always asks a stranger what perfume she (or he) is wearing if they smell amazing - yes this is a tiny bit weird, but who doesn't love a compliment?!

Since become a perfume lover, I have tried many different fragrances, ranging from the classic Coco by Chanel, Miss Dior and J'adore by Dior to Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker (all past favourites of mine). However, there has been one brand, which I am drawn to time and time again, thanks to the gorgeous scents and equally gorgeous bottles and packaging - Marc Jacobs.

So far, I have tried all of the fragrances in the Marc Jacobs range. Daisy was my first and the main reason I fell in love with the range. Feminine, sweet and yet not too girly and the bottle, well, when you see the lids on these bottles, you cannot mistake them for anything other than a Marc Jacobs perfume (I love them so much that even when I have finished the perfume, I - reluctantly - throw out the bottle and keep the lids).

This year, I was treated to Dot for my birthday, the newest fragrance in the range, and I do love it - sweet ladybird inspired bottle and soft, fresh summer scent, but I do feel it is more of a summer fragrance. When sampling Dot I also tried out Lola, and I instantly fell in love. It is by far my favourite fragrance of the collection, and having been given a bottle for Christmas, I now spray this stunning scent on myself and my scarves, so I can continue to smell it throughout the day.

It really is one of those scents, which makes you stop and ask what it is. The perfume is described as:

Opening with fruity topnotes of delectable bright pink peppercorn, seductive pear d’anjou and succulent ruby red grapefruit. The ultra-feminine heart is highlighted by the lavish fuschia peony with soft touches of rose and geranium, while the base lingers on the skin, exuding a warm and seductive aura with enveloping notes of smooth vanilla, tonka bean and creamy musk.

The bottle and lid are also adorable and just as gorgeous as every other perfume in the range. A beautiful purple bottle with a large pink and purple flower lid - not sure which flower, but I'm going to go with a peony.

I don't normally rabbit on about one particular perfume or product in particular, but I have fallen head over heels in love with Lola and I wanted to share it with you!

Have you tried Lola before? Are you a fan of Marc Jacob's perfumes and his iconic bottle designs? Enjoy x

Lady Gaga's Debut Fragrance

Back in the summer of 2011, it was revealed that super star and mother monster, Lady Gaga was secretly working on a fragrance with a bit of a difference. She had teamed up with Coty - the company that makes Kate Moss and SJP's perfumes, as well as the likes of Chloe and Mark Jacobs - she's in safe hands then!
At the time of the announcement, Coty were unable to reveal much about the perfume, not even a name! Boo!

Then Miss Gaga herself told US Vogue that she will be bringing out her own perfume and it would have elements of...wait for it...blood and semen. O....K... always expect the unexpected with mother monster.

So now, a year later, the perfume is still a big secret, with no further details being released, until now! New information has been released this week with rumours suggesting that the perfume is to be called "Fame" and will not smell like bodily fluids, but more like "an expensive hooker" Fabulous!

What do you think Of Lady Gaga releasing a fragrance? Will you be trying it? Enjoy x

The Oscar's Award Winning Dresses

I have always been a huge fan of the Oscars.

When I was little, I used to stay up with my mum till 5am to watch the whole show! Now, I try to watch it live, but end up taping it and watching it over the course of the following days.

Now, I love watching the red carpet as well as the award ceremonies, and seeing what everyone wore - the hits, the misses and all the glamour.

This year, seven ladies really stuck out to me; Meryl Streep, Rooney Mara, Cameron Diaz, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Williams, J-Lo and Gwyneth Paltrow, who all wore stunning gowns by the likes of Tom Ford, Givenchy, Gucci, Marc Jacobs and other fabulous names.

My favourite trend of the dresses were the pretty floaty nude gowns, with flowing trains, a smattering of shimmer and a slight etheral quality. I've put my faves below, but would love to hear who your favourites were. Enjoy x

Louis Vuitton's Ice Cream Pastel Heaven for SS12

The Louis Vuitton SS12 show was one of the most whimsical, beautiful and feminine of all the SS12 shows (how many fashion shows incorporate a carousel??)

Renowned photographer Steven Meisel has come together with artistic director of Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs to create the ultimate in candy perfect and ice cream dream ads for Louis Vuitton SS12. The spring summer ads, which feature two fresh, new models, Daria Strokous and Kati Nescher in an ice cream parlour, with swathes of sugar pink, bowls of ice cream sundaes and outfits so delectable, you'd think they were edible!

What do you think of these new ads? Will you be buying into the new season's pastel trend? Enjoy x

A Fashion Fairy Tale at Louis Vuitton

So...not many words to really say about the SS12 Louis Vuitton Ready to Wear show in Paris. I'm guessing my invite got lost in the post ;o) so I had to rely on live feeds, tweets, and blogs to keep me up to the minute with the collection.

All I can say is, wow! Nothing sums it up better than, a fashion fairy tale!

The show opened with all of the models scattered on a whimsical and glittering merry-go-round (natch). Marc Jacobs commented; "It's my biggest set, I could have never done this anywhere else.Very magical, it's like a magic box: very Paris." Clean, soft, pale colours, with hair in chic yet gentle chignons, held by sparkling bands, the models looked like ultra feminine fairy princesses in gauzy whips of fabric, and a real 50's inspired femininity. Icy whites and silvers were interjected with candy colours, with beautiful pastel coloured shoes and gorgeous basket handbags with applique leather daisies...soooooo cute!!

Kate Moss closed the show (who else) in a stunning white macrame shift with a ostrich feather hemline.

Basically, a stunning collection, a beautiful show and clothes which already have me longing for next summer! Enjoy x

Primarks SS11 Campaign

Um hello! How amazing is Primark's SS11 video campaign? I felt like I was watching a Prada...well...maybe not Prada, but at least a Marc Jacobs or Ralph Lauren campaign vid.

The guy and gal model look uber high fashion, chic and just the right amount of beautiful model bored. I love this collection, and it's clear to see that Primark have truly drawn inspiration from some of the best collections from the SS11 catwalks, including Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Pucci and Jill Sander.

Definite favourites include the horizontal stiped maxi dress, peasant girl dress and paisley print kaftan maxi...and the boys stuff ain't bad either. Little slim fit sailor t-shirts, boat shoes and candy stripe shorts...it's a collection worthy of the most fashionable guys in Shoreditch! Have a gander and get down to Primark ASAP before all the best bits go...you know they will! Enjoy x

A Scent Fit for Spring...(and a bride)!

Firstly, I am so sorry I haven't posted in a week. This Belle is getting hitched this weekend, and things have been manic to say the least! However, I am hoping to get a couple more posts out there before the big day.

I wanted to tell you about something I don't normally write about, but considering today really does feel like the first day of spring, I thought it was appropriate! I've been looking for the perfect perfume to wear for the wedding day. Something soft, feminine and playful and also with floral notes, as I wanted to smell like a beautiful spring day! Ha! My favourite perfume of all time is Marc Jacobs Daisy. Not only is the bottle beautiful (if you haven't seen those gorgeous oversized daisy lids then where have you been?!) but the scent is gorgeous. It's one of the only perfumes I have found that lingers for hours, and the bottle is so pretty, I keep it out on display even when the thing is empty!

Now, I didn't want to wear Daisy on the wedding day, as I always wear it and I wanted to try something a little different. I was very happy then when the lovely PRs over at the Perfume Shop sent me a gorgeous big bottle of the new Daisy perfume - Daisy Eau So Fresh. The botttle is by far the sweetest one yet - a bouquet of pastel coloured plastic daisies, in various sizes and shades - so cute I'm thinking of turning it into a pendant for a necklace once it's finished up! Top Model Hannah Holman is the face of the new campaign for the perfume, and she adds a certain vitality to the ad.

The smell is different to Daisy, slightly younger, sweeter and fruity - apparently this is down to its notes of rasberry, grapefruit, violet, wild rose and apple blossom - don't worry, you won't smell like a fruit salad! Also, the juice is gently tinted a soft blush, so really, perfect for a...blushing bride!

So, I think I've cracked it, the perfect perfume to spritz on, on my wedding day - I'm going to take the bottle with me so I can freshen the scent up (it's going to be a long day) but I really would recommend this perfume. It's perfect for day or nights and although it's young, fresh and fruity, it still has that sophistcated edge, meaning it'll smell great on you no matter your age or style. Plus, the bottle is a total keep sake!

If you fancy owning your own Daisy Eau So Fresh, check out the Perfume Shop where you can grab it in two different sizes. Enjoy x

Add a Splash of Colour to your Spring Summer Wardrobe

OK, so perhaps the warmer months aren't the best time to whip out a winter accessory, and I am most certainly NOT an advocate of fur in fashion...but OMG...Prada's SS11 fur stole is just heaven wrapped around your neck!!

I am hoping and praying that the high street does some amazing faux versions of this technicolour beauty. It is already coveted in the fashion world, with fashion champions such as Marc Jacobs, Anna Dello Russo and Rihanna rocking this summer's fiercest accessory. It's also graced the cover of hip mag Numero, and I'm sure will be copied a million times in the upcoming months.

So no, I can't afford Prada, just yet, but come on Topshop...get a look a like on board!! Enjoy x

Gorgeous, Gothic, Glamorous Make-up!

If there’s something I love, it’s a dramatic, smoky eye – and if a bit of glitter and shimmer are involved, all the better!

It’s not just me. Dramatic, glittery eyes were all over the Autumn Winter catwalks and the Spring Summer catwalks, proving that a bit of drama works all year long. I was very pleased then, to discover an amazing new make-up kit from fab brand Front Cover (if you’re unfamiliar, check out the website, they have everything you could want including step by step make up tutorials!)

They’ve released a gorgeous kit called Moonlit Metals, which contains everything you need to achieve this glamorously gothic look, including a shadowbase to keep the glitter from spilling onto your cheeks and makes the colour more intense. It also contains 6 loose pigment powders and two lose glitters (in pots obviously!) a double ended applicator AND step by step instructions to getting the latest catwalk looks from make up artists Leanne Shaw! All in one pretty box!

This is my favourite kind of make-up, a whole set to get you experimenting and creating. I believe make-up is all about having fun, and with this kit, you’ll be playing for hours creating gorgeous new sexy looks! I’ll post some pics shortly, but in the meantime, check out the images below and grab yourself a Front Cover Moonlit Metals kit (Boots stock the range), and start hogging that bathroom mirror! Enjoy x
