My Favourite Lipstick

I am a bit of a lipstick obsessive.

Well, actually strike that...I am a bit of a make-up obsessive (or lotions and potions as my hubby affectionately calls them).

With that being said, over the years I have bought a lot...and I mean A LOT of lipsticks. And not just lipsticks; lip balms, lip glosses, lip lacquers, lip stains. I mean, when I last emptied out my current bag of choice, I had 12...I repeat 12 lipsticks flying around loose in my bag. That does not include the ones in my make-up bag or lip balms and glosses.

So yes, I like lipsticks.

It's taken me a good long while to find a favourite among favourites. One, which really stands out from the rest and one, which if it was discontinued, I would die a little bit inside. After my love affair with Kate Moss's Number 3 from Rimmel, Notting Hill Nude from Rimmel and Syrup and Up the Amp from MAC, I have finally found THE one.

Drum roll please...Pink Truffle from Revlon. It is a Revlon Lip Butter shade and the consistency of these lip butters is so soft and creamy, it feels like a moisturising salve but the pigment is that of a lipstick. And the shade. Well, the bullet is a sort of pinkish nude, with a glossy finish, but when I apply it onto my lips, all hint of pink disappears and I am left with a beautiful, subtle mocha tinged nude.

It is so wearable and lasts ages. It goes with whatever make-up or outfit I choose and looks gorgeous day or night. It suits my skin tone and hair colour so well, and for me is my Holy Grail of lipsticks.

So there you go! Have you tried Pink Truffle or any of the Lip Butters? What's your ultimate lipstick?

Lady Gaga's Debut Fragrance

Back in the summer of 2011, it was revealed that super star and mother monster, Lady Gaga was secretly working on a fragrance with a bit of a difference. She had teamed up with Coty - the company that makes Kate Moss and SJP's perfumes, as well as the likes of Chloe and Mark Jacobs - she's in safe hands then!
At the time of the announcement, Coty were unable to reveal much about the perfume, not even a name! Boo!

Then Miss Gaga herself told US Vogue that she will be bringing out her own perfume and it would have elements of...wait for it...blood and semen. O....K... always expect the unexpected with mother monster.

So now, a year later, the perfume is still a big secret, with no further details being released, until now! New information has been released this week with rumours suggesting that the perfume is to be called "Fame" and will not smell like bodily fluids, but more like "an expensive hooker" Fabulous!

What do you think Of Lady Gaga releasing a fragrance? Will you be trying it? Enjoy x

A Fashion Fairy Tale at Louis Vuitton

So...not many words to really say about the SS12 Louis Vuitton Ready to Wear show in Paris. I'm guessing my invite got lost in the post ;o) so I had to rely on live feeds, tweets, and blogs to keep me up to the minute with the collection.

All I can say is, wow! Nothing sums it up better than, a fashion fairy tale!

The show opened with all of the models scattered on a whimsical and glittering merry-go-round (natch). Marc Jacobs commented; "It's my biggest set, I could have never done this anywhere else.Very magical, it's like a magic box: very Paris." Clean, soft, pale colours, with hair in chic yet gentle chignons, held by sparkling bands, the models looked like ultra feminine fairy princesses in gauzy whips of fabric, and a real 50's inspired femininity. Icy whites and silvers were interjected with candy colours, with beautiful pastel coloured shoes and gorgeous basket handbags with applique leather daisies...soooooo cute!!

Kate Moss closed the show (who else) in a stunning white macrame shift with a ostrich feather hemline.

Basically, a stunning collection, a beautiful show and clothes which already have me longing for next summer! Enjoy x

A Couple of Fab Magazine Covers and Masters of Style...

Sorry I have been absent for so long...I've had a few decisions to make over the last week or so which required lots od deliberating...so blogging had to be put on hold!

I went to a fabulous event last week with fellow blogger buddy, Rachael Oku of Creative Idle called Masters of Style. This was a brilliant preview and press party for this new exhibition at Somerset House, and we were tres flattered to be invited and mingle among the fashion elite. Curated and (on the night), hosted by fashion historian, commentator and journalist for the Sunday Times, Colin McDowell; this groundbreaking exhibition marks the 150th anniversary of Italy’s unification. Masters of Style brought together six of the nation’s most influential fashion houses to celebrate the stories behind Italian fashion’s emergence on the international stage. Synonymous with the variety, style, originality, workmanship and high quality of the Made in Italy label, the six iconic design houses under the spotlight are Armani, Missoni, Gucci, D&G, Prada and Salvatore Ferragamo.

Whilst enjoying gorgeous canapes and champagne (we bypassed the Peroni beers, one of the events sponsors of the night), we had a mooch around the exhibition, which consisted of each of the designers choosing their favourite campagins from their back catalogues, and showcasing them in little individual enclosures. It was amazing to see which campaigns the designers treasured, and offered so much insight into the designer's inspirations.

So, apart from that amazing night, I've spotted a couple of mag covers that deserve a bit of a shout out!

Firstly, the beautiful and talented Anne Hathaway, who in my eyes is one of Hollywood's most gorgeous and watchable actresses, covers Harpers Bazaar. The actress looks demure and stunning on the cover, and in the fashion shoot, she wears a beautiful palette of reds and creams which is bang on for the new season. The mag hits the newstands of July 12th, so make sure you grab yourself a copy!

If I had to do my wedding again...I'd so wear this dress!!

Finally, I love this cover for Vogue's August issue. Kate Moss looks young, fresh and ever so slightly fairy like! The outfit, hair and make up all work really well for the newly married super model and she looks more like she did in her glory days...working the super model look again! Well done Kate, married life obviously agrees with you!

Kate Moss Wears Primark For Her Hen Weekend!

Well well, it seems not all celebs deck themselves out in designer finest for the special events in their lives! Kate Moss has just had a hen weekend, at the Isle of Wight festival...as you do, and what did she choose to wear for this important occasion?

The answer is...PRIMARK! Miss Moss was spotted wearing a fab, aztec print poncho from the cheap as chips, fast fashion haven, which looked slightly Diane Von Furstenburg-esque. Who would have thunk it? Flying the flag high for the high street, Kate looked every inch cool and stylish, and for a mere £18, so can you!

I'm pretty sure once this pic hits the weekly mags, this poncho will be a sell-out, so if you want it...act fast! Enjoy x

Zoe and Morgan's AW11 Collection

Last night I went to the uber trendy and stylish Dean Street Town House Hotel, to attend the AW11 launch (and sample sale) of ultra cool and rock and roll jewellery range Zoe and Morgan. Upon entering the hotel, we were directed to a bedroom on the first floor, which was packed with fashion folk and friends and family of the jewellery designers.
If you're unfamiliar with the range, Zoe and Morgan was officially launched in 2006, and their pieces have featured in Vogue, Elle, pop and InStyle to name but a few!! They are the jewellery brand of choice for fashion editors and word of mouth has caused a flurry of interest amongst the fashionable celebs out there, fans including; Garance Dore, Alexa Chung, Lilly Donaldson, Emma Watson and Kate Moss to name but a few.
The jewellery ranges from rings and earrings to necklaces and bracelets, and it took all of my strength to not forgo a months mortgage to buy the whole lot!! Skulls are blended with flowers, snakes hold turquoise marbles in their mouths, gold plated eternity snake bangles, rings with tiny stars, each containing a single sapphire, slender chains come adorned with the sweetest pendants - tiny fox cubs, little bear faces, rabbits popping out of hats, anchors, "love" and "magic," fox door knockers and, in their AW11 collection, incredible scarab beetles. There's even a collection for the men folk, so you can look equally cool and rock and roll!
I've put a few of my fave pieces below, and make sure you check the website to have a gander. Prices range from anything from £60-£2,000!
