All That Sparkles...

So I have a bit of a thing about statement jewellery - statement necklaces to be exact. I always think, if you're going to wear jewellery, you need to make it obvious.

I don't really bother with bracelets, as I find them annoying when I'm typing and working, or rings (apart from my engagement and wedding rings). Instead, my jewellery stand is on the point of toppling over every day, straining under the weight of my necklace collection, and as some of them are very big and heavy, a new jewellery stand will be needed very soon.

Anyway, I wanted to dedicate a post to my statement jewellery obsession. While composing my Christmakah wish list, I came across an amazing necklace on ASOS, which promptly made its way onto the list. I then checked the rest of the styles on the website and I had to try very hard not to put the whole lot on my list! There are some seriously amazing pieces available, and at very reasonable prices too. I especially love the chunky styles, which will create such a strong look with a simple outfit.

I've chosen a few of my favourite pieces below, including the one I'm asking for, for you to drool over too. What do you think of ASOS's jewellery collection? Will any of them be making their way onto your wish list?

Enjoy x

River Island's Coat Collection

Now that it is officially a wee bit chilly, and the leaves are turning and starting to fall, and Oxford Street have put up the Christmas lights, I think it's safe to say that autumn is here.

I love this time of year, it always feels so romantic - wrapping up warm, going for long walks and coming home to a cup of tea in front of a cosy fire...sigh...who needs summer eh??

With that in mind, and with my birthday being just over a week away (whoo hoo) I've been scouring some of  my favourite high street retailer's coat collections. A good coat is always so valuable, as it will be your friend for many winters to come - unless you are a fickle fashion follower and only go with what is on-trend that particular year. It's always best to go for something classic, with perhaps a touch of cool individual style, or a flavour of what is on trend that particular year. This season, it seems to be all about PU or leather details (especially the sleeves or pockets) faux fur collars and trims and military/boyfriend fits. All of these styles, if worn in classic colours - blacks, browns, khakis, camels etc, will work really well this year, next and beyond.

With that in mind, I headed to River Island, where you really can't go wrong, to check out what they had in the way of coats and jackets this year. I've put my favourites below and have even asked for one for my birthday...try to guess which one! If you like any of these, hurry up and snap them up soon, as the best styles tend to go before the real winter hits.

What do you think of River's coat collection? Have you bought your new winter coat yet? Enjoy x

River Island Wish List

I am such a huge fan of River Island, but I have to admit, I have always been partial to their autumn/winter ranges over their spring/summer - this might have something to do with the fact that I love winter clothes more than summer ones!

Their autumn/winter collections in my opinion are always more high fashion led, more stylish and far more interesting. This season, I love how they have gone quite grungy, following that amazing 90's trend we saw on the AW12 catwalks, and their collections are covered in studs and consist of checks, chunky boots, fabulous knitwear, character accessories, grungy tees and all that great stuff, which reminds me so much of Claire Danes in My So Called Life.

After drooling over their website, and while the bump is still relatively small, I have compiled a wee wish list of my favourite pieces.

What do you think of River Island's AW12 collection? Have you spotted anything which you need in your wardrobe? Enjoy x

Thursday's Wish List

I love it when the first drops of the autumn collections start hitting the high street.

I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of over summer. It feels like it's been muggy for months, and I am so ready to start rocking a new wardrobe for AW12. I miss tights, boots, chunky knits and gorgeous winter coats.

Everyone always seems to think that I am mental, but I really do like the colder months more than summer. I think the clothes are just so much nicer, the styles are always much more exciting. So, that being said, I've been doing a little window shopping and have made a wish list...for this week anyway ;^) and yes those are the boots from Office that EVERY blogger is lusting after...well, they are pretty damn gorgeous!

So here is my list. Have you started planning your new season wardrobe already? Enjoy x

Coat Topshop £110
Ring River Island £4
Jumper dress River Island £40
Floral dress Topshop £46
Boots Office £80
Dot by Marc Jacobs 100mls £63

Lust Have Outfit

The weather outside is soooooooooooooo hot! It must be about 30 degrees in London town, and working in central London is like working in a sauna at the moment.

So what do I do when the weather gets hot outside? I start planning my winter wardrobe...naturally :o)

Today, I am lusting over Topshop's new AW12 collection. Their first drop is so cool - kind of grungy but with that girly twist. Full of peace symbols and dip hems and chunky knits - just my kind of look.

So, I've popped my wish list outfit for today below - a cool tee, dip hem skirt and a great pair of boots. What do you think of this look? Do you think it's too early to start planning your autumn wardrobe? Enjoy. X

London tee £16

Dip back maxi skirt £40

Western chelsea boots £75

Friday's Dream Outfit

Happy Friday everyone!

Just a quick post this evening. I’ve been doing so much window shopping recently, that I wanted to do a little outfit “wish list.” Today’s dream outfit is entirely from our Great British High Street, and mixes soft pastel shades with high gloss accessories and a touch of a festival flavour. I opted for pieces from Topshop, River Island, Miss Selfridge and Dorothy Perkins.

What do you think of today’s outfit? Is it something you would wear? Enjoy x

What's Caught My Eye This Week

Sorry for the long break in between posts! It was my sister-in-law to be's hen do over the weekend, which I have been planning for months, and last week was filled with last minute preparations and of course, the actual event over the weekend!

So, I have had a bit of browsing time since last week and I have created a mood board of my latest wish list obsessions! I'm loving colour, print, texture and I even spotted an adorable mug from Cath Kidston, which I am desperate to add to my ever growing collection. I had to include a couple of pieces from Monki (my new favourite shop), a pretty lace dress in a stunning lemon shade from Jane Norman and some summer festival essentials from River Island.

I love the idea of mixing colour, print and texture for SS12 - a bit of native with neon, graphic prints with boho accents and pastel tones with a masculine edge. It really is a season to have fun with.

What do you think of my must-haves this week? Has anything beautiful spotted your eye? Enjoy x
