Snow Day

Sorry for the long absence! Blogger has been playing up and I haven't been able to upload any pictures :( Thanks to some bloggers who were also experiencing problems, I discovered that the problem didn't exist if using Google Chrome...so now I am and ta da...problem resolved!

I've also been busy becoming an aunty this week! My brother and sis in law had their gorgeous baby late Wednesday night - a beautiful baby boy called Jonah. I am already so obsessed with him and am planning on spoiling him silly. Here's a pic of the amazing new addition to our family.

Jonah Lewis

So if you are a UK resident, you'll have probably been stranded at home in the gorgeous snow all weekend. Darren and I decided (well, I wanted to and I dragged Darren) to go for a walk in the snow, as there really wasn't anything else to do.

We walked to our local park, which was full of people sledding down the snow adorned hills. It was so beautiful and the snow was falling constantly, so we took advantage and took some bump pics, as Darren is always saying we don't take enough. So dressed in my sparkly Topshop maternity jumper, the only coat which still does up over my bump, my favourite hat and my Dior snow boots (bought for £10 from the Dior sample sale when I used to work there) I posed for some bump shots.

Here are a few pics of our afternoon in the snow. Have you been out enjoying the snow today? Enjoy x

loved this kid's matching neon sled and hat - so SS13!

Maternity Review #2 - ASOS

I thought I would do another round up of maternity fashion, as I got quite a good response to my Topshop maternity post.

We had our 20 week scan for Titch on Monday, and apart from a little complication with Titch's heart (which should hopefully be treatable once he or she is here - if it is needed) everything looked good! He or she is currently dancing away to XFM so another maternity fashion round-up is definitely needed.

Before I get started, here is a pic of Titch now:

So the brand I have chosen to do a round-up of is ASOS. As an ASOS fan, I've always been impressed with their collections, and the sheer size of them - although sometimes I find they have too much choice and I get a bit bored with perusing over 20+ pages of options. At least they have given their maternity range a similar lay out, with simply oodles of choice. This does make a nice change, as, from what I've seen on the high street so far, even if a brand has a collection, the choice is normally quite limited.

At the moment, ASOS have over 250 styles to choose from, ranging from bottoms, tops, dresses, coats, underwear, knitwear, you name it! They've also got a good mix of casual and dressy items and have obviously taken into account the top trends for the season, as well as including some great basic pieces, such as breton tops, jeans and jackets.

What's really nice is ASOS is obviously dedicated to providing quality ranges and the maternity range is no exception. I could quite happily order a dozen pieces and would want to continue to wear them after the baby, as they are so lovely. The styles are also realistic - they are fashion forward but not difficult to wear or style. For example, a sequin and lace skater dress with an empire line will look stunning with a big bump and certainly on-trend, but the relaxed empire line is designed for comfort. Perfect!

I've put a selection of some of my favourite pieces below. What do you think of ASOS's maternity range? Do you think it lives up to their regular collections? Enjoy x

Topshop's Maternity Range - Style Round Up

I really wasn't expecting myself to want to do a maternity fashion post, but now that Titch is turning into a little bump - see below - I've started to look at maternity clothes.

hello Titch!

I'm hoping to be able to stay in my regular clothes for as long as possible, and now I am just over half way through, and only just starting to show, I might be able to for a bit longer. However, there's no harm looking, and now that the majority of the high street have launched their own maternity ranges, I thought I would have a browse to see what catches my eye.

I'm going to do a few round-up posts like this on my favourite ranges, and first up is Topshop.

I was actually really impressed with what Topshop has to offer its preggers customers. They have basically adapted their own range to suit the needs of the belly heavy. The AW12 collection is full of cool grungy pieces (totally going to be my signature maternity look) such as studded over sized jumpers, studded military shirts, skinny jeans, denim shorts, parka jackets etc. There are also some pretty and feminine pieces, such as floral dresses (perfect for a wedding I have in December) and heart print jumpers.

There is also a great selection of maternity underwear, tights, bump bands etc - well over 200 pieces in all, which, OK, is no where near as good as the Topshop mainstream collection, is still pretty good. I'm impressed! I'll definitely be heading there when my regular clothes no longer fit.

I've put a selection of my favourite pieces below. What do you think of this collection? If you are/were preggers, would you rate it? Enjoy x
