Colour Me In

I have become a bit obsessed with nail varnishes recently. I decided to clear out all of the ones that had gotten to old that they became goopy and difficult to apply.

The result of the clear out means I am left with the below collection:

I'm not really a nail varnish snob - I love trying out all kinds of brands, cheap and pricey. In fact, one of the best brands I've tried, which stays on the longest, is Boots 17 collection. They have such a gorgeous array of colours, and every time I pop into Boots I seem to add to my 17 collection! A lot of the colours are part of their 3 for 2 offer, so for just under £6 you can add 3 new colours to your collection. I couldn't resist their new Candy colours when I went into Boots on Friday, and I treated myself to the below three varnishes.

I especially love the soft green on the right, which is called Mint Choc Chip. I first saw Sarah of Temporary Secretary wearing this colour, and I fell in love with it! I'm definitely going to be trying out the other colours...maybe on my next lunch break!!

Next on my list though is Rainbow Connection by O.P.I. a colour which every blogger seems to be raving about. There are only a few places that stock this covetable colour online, so now that I have finally been paid for January (well, maybe it's Tuesday, I can't remember) I think I'll be ordering it this week. Whoo hoo!

Have you tried any new nail colours recently? Enjoy x

I Love Sparkly Nails

Just the other day I was searching for the perfect sparkly nail varnish, and, amazingly, today my manager gave me a belated xmas present - a gorgeous sparkly nail varnish my one of my favourite varnish brands - O.P.I.

The varnish is made up of different sized sparkles, which paint on really smoothly, without leaving unsightly clumps like some other sparkly varnishes I've used. In the pics below you can see the effect - the sparkles are really dazzling and twinkle like fairy lights! I've only applied two coats and if looks like a solid colour. The nail varnish dries really quickly, and just needs a quick coat of top coat and voila! Gorgeous sparkly nails.

I realise this is my second nail varnish post in a week, I'm having a bit of a love affair with the stuff at the moment and would love to hear some of your suggestions as to what to try next. Enjoy x

Nicki Minaj Gets Her Own OPI Nail Varnish Collection

I realise that I've don't quite a few posts about nail varnish collaborations with everything from muppets to glee, and I have yet another exciting collection!

One of my favourite fashion stars to emerge out of this last year is the fabulous nicki Minaj. Here is a girl who is fierce, who plays with fashion and always has a unique and colourful look...I mean who else wears leopard everything head to toe next to anna wintour at fashion week.

So, the awesome nail varnish brand OPI has collaborated with the uber stylish miss minaj to create a range of bright and outrageous colours to adorn your nails. With names like Super bass shatter, save me, Pink Friday and did it on 'ema and colours ranging from full on metallics, glitter and neons, this is not a collection for the faint hearted!

The collection is available in January 2012. What do you think? Will you be adding a touch of nicki minaj's in your face style to your look? Enjoy x

Give your Nails a GLEE-icure!!

O...M...G!

This is a post specifically for all you Gleeks out there...not only is my life a little better now that Glee is back on our screens, but you can now GLEE-ify your manicure! Glee and Sephora are releasing a line of New Directions-themed nail polish on Feb. 3! Eek...I do apologise for the amount of cyber squealing I am emitting, but this really is exciting news for me...and I ain't afraid to say it!

Here’s what we know so far: Glee Nail Color will be available everywhere Sephora products are sold. The seven Glee nail polish colors available will be: “Slushied” (Blue), “Hell to the No” (Purple), “Gleek Out” (Gliterry Green), “Diva-in-Training” (Pink), “Who Let The Dorks Out” (Green),”Miss Bossy Pants” (Raspberry), and “Mash-Up” (Grey). If you buy the set you will get three additional shades “Celibacy Club” (Diamond Top Coat), “Express Yourself To Yourself” (Coral), and “Sue Vs. Shue” (Navy Blue).

The only thing that is making me panic - we don't have Sephora's in the UK (anymore) - I don't know why, I loved the one stop beauty shop, and then they just disappeared. Hopefully (fingers crossed Gleeks) they'll be available online...but if they're not, I guess I'll be hoping on the Eurostar to Paris which is my closest store!!

What do you reckon? Will you be Gleeking up your manicure? I've got my eyes on "Slushied," "Hell to the No" and "Express Yourself to Yourself," great colours for spring summer. Enjoy! x
