This is one's for my hubby, but to be honest, I'm totally excited about it as well!!
They’re the most famous trainers in movie history, and now they can be yours to own. Nike has created 1,500 (almost) exact replicas of the iconic, glowing shoe worn by Marty McFly in the ultimate 1980s movie; Back to the Future...well, to be specific, they were featured in part 2, but that was arguably even better than the first!
Bit of a bummer though, the 2011 Nike MAGs don’t feature laces that do up themselves, but they do include a LED panel and the electroluminescent Nike logo in the strap - freaking awesome!
The shoes don’t come cheap though, before you all get your hopes up...Nike are selling them on eBay, with some models already getting bids at the £5,000 mark. They started at less than £1!
It’s all for a really good cause though: the cash will go towards the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s disease research. Michael J. Fox, who will appear on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ to promote the shoes, said: “This project is exciting to me because it brings together three very passionate audiences: the Parkinson’s community, the sneakerheads and ‘Back to the Future’ fans.”
If anyone manages to get a pair...can I please borrow them?? Enjoy x
