It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

...A Primark Christmas actually!

I decided to visit the new Primark on Oxford Street the other day to get myself a Christmas jumper...and one for Darren of course.

Once there though and after having a mooch around, I emerged with an armful of gorgeous festive inspired goodies. From socks and underwear to scarves and accessories to jumpers and leggings, there is so much fabulous Chrissy gear that I really had to restrain myself not to go too OTT!

That being said, I still managed to spend about £40...a fortune by Primark standards. I picked up a couple of matching festive jumpers (yes, I do intend to be one of those couples with matching xmas jumpers!) some cosy slipper socks, slippers, a snood and matching mittens and some fair isle print leggings. All ready for it to snow now.

Here are some pics of my haul. Have you been to Primark recently? What do you think of their Festive collection? Enjoy x

All That Sparkles...

So I have a bit of a thing about statement jewellery - statement necklaces to be exact. I always think, if you're going to wear jewellery, you need to make it obvious.

I don't really bother with bracelets, as I find them annoying when I'm typing and working, or rings (apart from my engagement and wedding rings). Instead, my jewellery stand is on the point of toppling over every day, straining under the weight of my necklace collection, and as some of them are very big and heavy, a new jewellery stand will be needed very soon.

Anyway, I wanted to dedicate a post to my statement jewellery obsession. While composing my Christmakah wish list, I came across an amazing necklace on ASOS, which promptly made its way onto the list. I then checked the rest of the styles on the website and I had to try very hard not to put the whole lot on my list! There are some seriously amazing pieces available, and at very reasonable prices too. I especially love the chunky styles, which will create such a strong look with a simple outfit.

I've chosen a few of my favourite pieces below, including the one I'm asking for, for you to drool over too. What do you think of ASOS's jewellery collection? Will any of them be making their way onto your wish list?

What I've Been Up To Recently

Happy Monday!

I can't believe how quickly the weeks are flying by now. With less than 15 weeks to go (PG) before the birth of Titch, I'm trying to cram in as much as possible, so each week and weekend seems to be packed at the moment...which is great but is starting to knacker me out and give me a constant sore throat. Oh well! I went out with some of my girlfriends to see the last instalment (sniff sniff) of the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn part 2 on Saturday night. I am such a huge fan of the books (don't care how lame it is to say that) and we couldn't wait to see the last chapter on screen. Still team Edward all the way and the surprise ish) ending was enough to cause us to yell out loud in the cinema (cringe).

Anyway, besides that, here is what I have been up to over the last couple of weeks.

Animal Magic

I have a rather childish obsession with faux fur and knitted novelty animal hats, scarves and gloves. I realise that they sometimes do make me look like an over grown toddler, but I really don't care! My husband is well aware of this obsession, and tried to take it upon himself last year to choose an animal themed pair of gloves from Anthropologie - or what he thought was a pair of gloves. Bless him, they actually turned out to be two knitted puppets. A story, which has gone down as one of his best moments yet! Oh well, he tried, and now he knows only to go for ones, which I have already noted ;o)

Yes Darren...they are obviously puppets!
Every winter, I keep my eyes peeled and always seem to add a selection to my birthday and Christmas wish lists. I don't know what it is about them, but I just find them so cute and cosy. They also make me feel all Christmassy, which is an added bonus!

I love how the high street have picked up on the Spirit Hood phenomenon. If you're not aware of Spirit Hoods, check out my write up on them, which I did last year, here. You can now treat yourself to a snug bear hood, cosy teddy earmuffs, cute owl bobble hats and loads more.

I have done a round up of some of my favourite pieces below, and yes, I will be putting a couple on my Christmas wish list. Maybe not the Spirit Hood though, as they can set you back over £100!

What do you think of the animal accessory craze? Will you be putting any of these on your wish list? Enjoy x

New MAC Lipstick

A bit of an indulgent post today!

I've started doing my Christmas shopping, mainly due to the fact that I don't want to dragging myself around the shops in December in the horrific present buying crowds! I thought I would start nice and early and then get the pressies brought bit by bit...much more civilised than rushing around the shops last minute!

Anyway, I was on my lunch break and hitting the shops in Carnaby Street, when I passed MAC. Now, I never normally buy myself products from MAC - instead I always ask for products for my birthday or Christmas, as yes, it is expensive, but it is worth it, and I can't really justify buying myself a £15 lipstick or £18 eyeshadow on a regular basis.

Today however, I really had the urge to treat myself to a new lipstick - especially as I'm not really buying myself clothes at the moment, due to my ever expanding belly! I've been really drawn to purple tone lipsticks recently, both light and dark. I've never really thought about choosing this tone before, but I think it actually really suits my pale skin/dark features. Red always looks to strong, so I normally go for more natural browns/browny reds/browny pinks, but about a month ago, I decided to try purple - looked weird in the packaging but fab on!

So, I chose a really gorgeous purple tone from the MAC Amplified Creme lipstick collection called Up The Amp at £14. It's the perfect colour - soft enough to wear during the day but dramatic enough for night time glam. I also love the creamy formula, which leaves my lips feeling really moisturised.

What do you think of purple tone lipsticks? Have you ever tried them out yourself? Enjoy x

Christmas Adverts Are Here!

OK, yes, another Christmas themed blog...sorry about that! But, I don't care, I love this time of year and I am sure there will be many more Chrissy blog posts to come.

This one is about something, which truly makes you feel as if Christmas is arriving - the start of Chrissy adverts on TV! Yes, it's not just Coca Cola's "Holidays are comin'" beloved advert which graces our TV screens annually, now it seems stores, department stores in particular, battle it out each year to create the most emotional, funny, heart warming advert imaginable.

From John Lewis's gorgeous and often hauntingly beautiful adverts, to Debenhams colourful creations and Marks & Spencer's fun filled efforts, the Christmas advert truly marks the beginning of the season to me, and they all give me that lovely, warm fuzzy feeling.

Instead of dissecting just one particular advert, I thought I would do a wee round up of my favourites so far. I've put them below - I'd love to know which one gets your vote. I have to admit, the gorgeous snow men in the John Lewis advert gets me very choked up every time ;o) Enjoy x

Harrods' Disney Princess Christmas Windows

This post was meant to go up last week, so sorry about that! As the news is a little old now...well...a week old, which is still quite old in the fashion world!

I don't need to hark on again about how much I love Christmas, but I want to do a special post about a certain department store's AMAZING Christmas windows.

Combining three of my favourite things - Christmas, Disney and fashion - Harrods have created windows, which have come straight from my dreams.

Some of the biggest names in fashion have come together to create their own interpretations of iconic Disney princess gowns. The display coincides with the 7,000 square foot Disney princess pop up boutique on the fourth floor, which is opened now.

These spectacular windows were revealed to the public last Thursday, and they do not disappoint.

From Oscar De La Renta's vision of Snow White's classic look to Marchesa's beautiful interpretation of Ariel from The Little Mermaid and Versace's stunning take on Cinderella to Missoni's vision of Mulan, these displays are simply amazing and will take anyone's breath away.

I've put the sketches and final shots of the dresses below. What do you think of this gorgeous window display? Will you be heading down to Harrods to take a look? Enjoy x
