My Week in Photos - Week 5

Sorry I haven't been updating my week in photos for the last couple of weeks. Things have been a bit manic, but I'll explain all in a few weeks time :)

This week has been really exciting, the Olympics have now started, the opening ceremony has been and the weather has been amazing - hot and sunny, so lots of having fun in the sun,

So with that being said, here is my week in pictures. Enjoy and I hope you have a lovely week x

Lust Have Outfit

The weather outside is soooooooooooooo hot! It must be about 30 degrees in London town, and working in central London is like working in a sauna at the moment.

So what do I do when the weather gets hot outside? I start planning my winter wardrobe...naturally :o)

Today, I am lusting over Topshop's new AW12 collection. Their first drop is so cool - kind of grungy but with that girly twist. Full of peace symbols and dip hems and chunky knits - just my kind of look.

So, I've popped my wish list outfit for today below - a cool tee, dip hem skirt and a great pair of boots. What do you think of this look? Do you think it's too early to start planning your autumn wardrobe? Enjoy. X

Glee's Chris Colfer Looks Hot for Mr Porter

I've been meaning to post about this for a while, as the interview came out a couple of weeks ago, but things got a bit busy!

I am a massive GLEEK! I am not ashamed to admit it - I love Glee, the cheesiness, the music, the characters, the writing, everything, and I was in tears when the recent series came to an end, and many of my favourite characters left...sniff.

On of my favourite characters, right from the start, is the gorgeous Kurt Hummel, played amazingly by Chris Colfer. The poster boy for gay teens and an absolute fashionista and diva, the character of Kurt took a place in every Gleek's heart.

I was so excited then when I saw some gorgeous pics of Chris on men's fashion site Mr. Porter. Chris gave an interview to Mr. Porter, where he unveils some distressing facts about his teenage years, and the times at school when he was bullied for being gay. He also revealed his love and talent of writing, how he originally went for the role of Artie in Glee, but the writers were so impressed, they wrote the character of Kurt for him, and more about his family life.

It's obviously fab getting to know more about the man behind the quiff, but, if I'm being honest, the photoshoot is amazing. Chris looks suave, sexy, stylish and gorgeous! Dressed in designers from Alexander McQueen to Lanvin, Chis Colfer looks every inch the style icon Kurt Hummel aspires to be!

What do you think of this shoot? Are you a Glee fan? Enjoy x

Rihanna for River Island

I love a good celebrity/high street collaboration - but of course, I hate a bad one, and there have been a fair share of both over the last few years!

An exciting collaboration, which was announced this week, is between one of my favourite high street brands, River Island, and one of my favourite singers, Rihanna. The Barbados beauty has always had such cool style. Never afraid to look grungy, sexy, high fashion, low key, whatever, she does it all and always carries off each look with amazingly. I love how her style has evolved over the years, and how for each video, performance and appearance, she looks different but always uniquely...well...Rihanna. Yes I am aware that she has a team of stylists, but even so, every look is her own.

Now River Island has always been one of my favourite high street haunts. Over the years their style has evolved - it follows trends and adapts the ones which will work best for them. Long gone are the days of sequins, beading and tack, which they used to be associated with and now they are one of the true British High Street giants, with collections that look cutting edge, high fashion and uniquely British.

It was really exciting then when River announced that they were approached by Rihanna, to create a brand new collaboration.

Rihanna said; “I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.”

Ri-Ri's collection will hit stores in spring 2013. I cannot wait to see what it'll be like and I'll share more when more news (and hopefully sneak peaks) of the collection are made public.

What do you think of this collaboration? Are you a fan of River Island and Rihanna, and of celebrity collaborations? Enjoy x

Girl Crush! Anne Hathaway

I just had to do a quickie post on this.
Last night was the premiere of the amazing new Batman move, The Dark Knight Rises. Featuring a super hot cast, the red carpet was sure to sizzle!
Who stole the red carpet in my opinion? Although she looked a tad too skinny, the stunning Anne Hathaway looked beyond stunning. Elegant, classic and so stylish, Miss Hathaway stole the show in a revealing white number - a plunging v-neckline and a draped back, balanced out with a super maxi length created one amazing look.

Accessorising her white-hot look with silver heels, simple jewellery and a gorgeous new elfin hair cut (I so want that hair cut!) I can truly say that I have a massive girl crush on this brunette beauty! Just wish she'd eat a nice bit of cake.

What do you think of Anne Hathaway's red carpet look? Are you a fan? Enjoy x

Girl Crush - Whitney Port

I am not ashamed to admit that I watched and looooooved The Hills. I found it such fun TV to watch, and while everyone fell in love with Lauren Conrad, I was smitten straight away with Whitney Port. She came across immediately as genuine, kind and just really watchable - I so wanted to be her friend!

Even as the series went on and she became a bigger and bigger part of the show, she still remained exactly the same as episode one. When she got an even bigger break and landed her own show, The City, she remained true to who she was, and I fell even more in love!

Now, Whitney Port is not only a bonafide reality star, she is also a fashion designer with her own label, and, she is now the new judge on Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model. Again, not ashamed to admit that I am a fan of the Next Top Model series, but the British version always seemed to lack the glossy edge of its American cousin, but now, with Whitney on the judging panel, Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model is set to be huge!

I watched the first episode last night, and, along with other new judge Tyson Beckford (yummy), Whitney came across as knowledgeable, super stylish and confident, without being arrogant.

Now, Whitney has got an amazing spread in the August issue of Cosmopolitan, where she looks every inch the amazing star that she is.

What do you think of Whitney Port? Are you a fan of the reality slash fashion star? Enjoy x

Matalan's Hot AW12 Collection

Yes, yes I know...we haven't even had a summer yet but already we're being prepped for the new collections for the new season. The weather has been awful and while the shops are on the final legs of their summer sales, already the first drops of AW12 are starting to sneak in.

Some people might find this crazy, and will still be searching for that perfect summer maxi dress, but personally, I embrace the autumn/winter collections, and I get so excited when they start appearing on the high street.

I was perusing a few of my favourite fashion websites this weekend, and I came across a group of pictures from an AW12 collection, which made me stop in my tracks. I never normally shop in Matalan, but what I have seen so far of their AW12 collection has really impressed me. On trend, easy to wear, super stylish and so affordable! What a fabulous combination.

I have put a few of my favourite pieces below. I can't wait to start my autumn shopping, and this collection is where I'm going to start. What do you think of Matalan? Do you think it's too early to start shopping for the new season? Enjoy x

Christian Louboutin's Cinderella Moment

A while back, the fashion world was all a-buzz with the news that shoe master Christian Louboutin was working with Disney to create a shoe fit for a fairytale princess! Not just any princess to be frank...the princess - Cinderella.

Well, finally the moment has come for the shoe genius to reveal his very own glass slippers. I am so excited to post these pictures of not only the magical shoes themselves, but also the sketches behind the creation.

The press release describes the shoes: "Delicate lace adorned with crystals gives these slippers an enchanting look. Two sparkling butterflies rest prettily on the shoes, one landing on the vamp while the other sits closely behind atop of the crystal covered heel, gently brushing the ankle. Louboutin’s signature red soles add the final dash of excitement as Cinderella’s slippers come alive."

There has been no announcement of price yet, but I'm pretty sure they will be out of Cinderelli's price bracket!

I realise that these are not everyday shoes...they are so special and so gorgeous that I suppose, they should only be reserved for dancing with a prince...at a fabulous ball...hmmm...I wonder what Prince Harry is doing this weekend...

What do you think of these fairytale shoes? Enjoy x

A Little LUSH Haul

I think I have bleated on about my love of LUSH in several blog posts.

It's not just because I used to work there to fund my summer holidays, but I genuinely LOVE their products. From bath bombs to bubble bars, natural face masks to massage bars, I can always spend ages in a LUSH shop, contemplating the products and leaving with a massive bag full of gorgeous smelling goodies.

I popped into my local LUSH during my lunch break this week - a sweet little shop on South Molten Street just off Oxford Street - to treat myself to a bath bomb or two.

a selection of gorgeous bubble bars

impulse buys by the till

Although I know a lot of the products very well, it's been a while since I worked there, so when one of the sale assistants asked if she could help, I took up her offer. Her name is Sammy and not only was she super cheerful, friendly and smiley, but her knowledge of the products and of essential oils etc was amazing!

The lovely Sammy

fizzing bath bombs

I was after products mainly for relaxing baths, so Sammy showed me around and talked me through all of the products which she thought would be beneficial. She spent a good 20 minutes with me, despite the store being busy, and after I selected 5 fabulous bubble bars, Sammy then offered me as many free samples as I wanted. I came out with my 4 bubble bars and samples of Cosmetic Warrior face mask (perfect for eliminating spots and blemishes), Dream Cream body cream (leaves your skin super soft and smelling of lavender), Lemon Flutter cuticle butter (leaves cuticles and nails in gorgeous condition) and Sea Vegetable soap (combines seaweed and lemon oil) - I could have had more but I actually felt bad taking so much!

so many fabulous products
Here is what I treated myself to:

Ceridwen's Cauldron - a luxury bath melt filled with a slow melting oil, which melts gorgeously in warm water, leaves it smelling beautiful and slightly like a meadow in summer time! This melt comes in a little pouch and when the oil has melted, you are left with a pouch full of oats, which can be used as a soft body scrub.

French Kiss - a fab bubble bar which will have you dreaming of a French lavender field! This pretty bubble bar makes loads of foamy bubbles and smells of pretty lavender. Each bar comes with a stick of fresh lavender too. Mmmmm!

Amandopondo - a simple bubble bar which smells of rose and lemon. So simple but so good! Each bar comes with a dried rose bud in the centre to add to the floral effect.

Rose Jam - this bubble bar is super fruity - it has a pretty rose scent with a touch of strawberry jam. Yum! It also has lemon to bring clarity, geranium oil to balance the skin and coconut oil and shea butter to help soften the skin. So nice!

Have you shopped at LUSH before? Make sure you pop into the South Molten branch, and be sure to ask for Sammy! Enjoy x
